Malaysia’s Private Pension and Healthcare 2011
Malaysia’s Private Pension and Healthcare Conference aims to share, identify, raise awareness, deepen understanding and find solutions as well as create new forms of collaboration between key stakeholders – individuals, healthcare providers, financial institutions, employers and government.
In many countries around the world, a rapidly ageing population and rising costs are putting severe pressure on pension and healthcare systems. The demographic time bomb is ticking in both developed and less developed countries, including in Malaysia.
Challenges that we face include an inadequate social security system; the diminishing role of families in care for the aged; underdeveloped private pension, insurance and investment products; rising costs of healthcare and nursing care; lack of quality services for the aged to meet increasing demand.
This conference is a continuing series of Retirement Transformation in Malaysia, with the objective of bringing together key stakeholders to discuss the long-term consequences of an ageing society and help them to prepare for the challenges and opportunities ahead.
